With summer just around the corner, and many places slowly opening up again, it’s time to hit the great outdoors! COVID-19 has personally affected each of us, some personally, and others through stress. Taking time to be outside and enjoy the fresh air while maintaining social distancing allows us to reconnect with others and ourselves. Here are 7 simple activities that you should plan on this summer!

  1. Hiking

Walking + The Outdoors is a great formula for some outdoor fun. Whether your community has mountains/hills/forests/cacti, hiking is the perfect way to enjoy getting out of the office and into nature! Be sure to plan your hikes accordingly, with proper equipment, and plenty of water.

  1. Picnics

Some things are underrated in life, such as the third installment of Back To The Future. Do you know what else is underrated? That’s right, picnics. There’s nothing more relaxing than eating good lunch food on a blanket with your family or friends. This is a great way to mix up the daily routine, without having to plan too much in advance.

  1. Photography

Photography allows people to appreciate the beauty around them. And the awesome thing is you don’t need a fancy camera to do it! Consider going out with a date/spouse and finding unique and beautiful areas to take pictures. The memories and pictures created will be unforgettable.

  1. Go biking

When was the last time you rode your bike around the neighborhood? Biking is not only a great outdoor activity, but also great for exercise. Whether you have a cruiser, road, or mountain bike, hit the pavement and get biking!

  1. Visit the lake/beach

Depending on your area and regulations, try taking a trip out to the beach or lake! You don’t need any fancy toys to be able to appreciate the beautiful water and calming waves. Review your local COVID-19 guidelines to ensure that you are staying within defined activities.

  1. Camping

Camping may seem like a hassle to plan, but even a little planning never hurt anyone right? Find a local campground, or plan a backyard camping night with the family. There’s nothing like sitting around a campfire eating s’mores and enjoying the company of others.

  1. Star Gazing

Ever think of how much you love summer nights? It doesn’t get any easier than laying out on the grass and finding constellations in the skies. Star gazing is fun for the pro, the amateur, and the family. There are also many downloadable apps that can help you better identify constellations.
